Ikeena believes that with gentle, gradual changes to ingredients in traditional Soul Food recipes and a heart-centered, non-judgmental approach to coaching, clients can learn to feed their families with a more holistic, conscious intention and gain benefits in preventing the onset of common ailments such as diabetes, hypertension and forms of heart disease caused by an excess of harmful animal cholesterols. !Relying on a small team of affiliate artisans who work in collaboration with Keena’s Kitchen, Ikeena provides clients with innovative down- home menus and event design to make their special occasions entertaining and fun.
With a background of over 6 years working in the non-profit industry in areas of counseling, fundraising and event planning–and a passion for caring for underprivileged communities, Ikeena sits on the Board of Directors as the Development Chair for Most Holy Redeemer Aids Support Group and has helped Bay Area non-profits raise community program funds upward (collectively) of $75 (Mil.). She applies that same energy to creating systems and strategies that yield the positive, desired results her clients seek.
Former student of the California Culinary Academy, and a Human Awareness Institute Graduate, in 2009 Chef Ikeena trained under the private mentorship of Vanissar Tarakali, Ph.D., director of Tarakali Education for 8 months in areas of Reiki, polarity, chakra balancing, meditation, Intuitive Reading and Generative Somatics.
